Hello, my name is Lauri Kangas and I am a Canadian amateur photographer and astronomer. I am of Finnish descent, born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. My wife and I love the outdoors, nature and the night sky. We enjoy cycling, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, canoeing, astronomy, music and photography.
This website is a collection of photographs and videos that I have compiled over the years. The most recent photos were taken in Shuniah, Ontario near Thunder Bay which is our new home. The majority of the other photos were taken in Fort Frances, Ontario and Caledon, Ontario. The name of this website was inspired by one of my best friends calling me "Watcher of the Skies" referencing a song by the progressive rock band Genesis with vocals by Peter Gabriel.
